PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Fedor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Vadim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedor comes to the cage accompanied by Hate me now - Nas. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedor takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Vadim scores with a jab to the jaw.

Horrible takedown by Fedor or perhaps it was just good defense by Vadim which made him look bad.
Fedor fakes the leg kick and cracks Vadim in the body.

Vadim ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Vadim no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fedor darts in and clinches Vadim up against the cage.

Vadim seems to be working for a kimura but Fedor defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vadim in particular looking to stall.

Vadim is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fedor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vadim.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Vadim takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Vadim might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vadim, as that shot connected.

Fedor had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vadim is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fedor Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vadim's back instead.

Fedor looking to break Vadim's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Vadim remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Fedor will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Vadim's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fedor stands up from mount. Strange move.

Vadim feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fedor has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Vadim is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fedor.
