The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeNiro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and DeNiro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Some wild striking there from Fett.
Fett misses with a double jab.

DeNiro clinches up against the cage.

DeNiro gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Fett regains guard.
DeNiro is pushing down on Fett's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fett is fighting to maintain full guard but DeNiro has managed to sneak the leg through.
DeNiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
DeNiro prevents Fett from standing back up.

DeNiro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

DeNiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fett is just riding it out for now. DeNiro eventually gives up the hold.

Fett is looking to sweep but instead, DeNiro has passed into half guard.

DeNiro is trying to control the action in half guard but Fett is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

DeNiro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
