The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aldo takes one to the chin there.
Mayweather fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aldo on the side of the head.
Aldo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mayweather looks to land a combination. Aldo sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mayweather moves into range and connects with a jab.

Aldo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Aldo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mayweather dips to his left and cracks Aldo with an uppercut!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Aldo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mayweather has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mayweather and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Mayweather, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Aldo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mayweather scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mayweather might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Aldo doesn't manage to clinch there - Mayweather circles away.
Aldo looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Aldo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mayweather circles away quickly and effectively.

Mayweather connects with a combination that backs up Aldo into the cage. Mayweather lands a flurry of punches that gets past Aldo's guard. Aldo is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Mayweather bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
