Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Istaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Matsui!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsui has his takedown stuffed
and Istaz counters with a nice body kick.
Matsui stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Istaz.
Matsui with a poor takedown
and Istaz counters with a big head kick but Matsui shrugs it off.
Matsui takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Matsui tries for a takedown but Istaz circles away easily
and Istaz makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Matsui really felt that one!
Karl Istaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takashi Matsui.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Istaz throws a quick inside leg kick.
Matsui takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Matsui is trying desperately to land a takedown but Istaz is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Matsui.
Istaz lands a leg kick that knocks Matsui off balance momentarily.
Matsui looks gassed!
Istaz scoring well with a low kick there.
Istaz throws a head kick that Matsui semi-blocks.
Matsui shoots and misses
and Matsui takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Matsui on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Matsui takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Matsui is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Istaz lands with a big right hook that stumbles Matsui - he's out on his feet here! Istaz follows up with another monster hook that separates Matsui from consciousness! Matsui falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Istaz stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Karl Istaz!
