Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Haile Gebreselassie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrew Hahar!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gebreselassie misses with a low kick as Hahar jumps back.
Gebreselassie moves out of range as Hahar strikes.
Hahar avoids the head kick by Gebreselassie.
Gebreselassie throws a head kick but Hahar moves out of range.
Hahar takes a swing at Gebreselassie's ribcage but misses.
Gebreselassie shoots in for a takedown but Hahar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hahar throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Horrible takedown by Hahar or perhaps it was just good defense by Gebreselassie which made him look bad.
Gebreselassie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hahar.

Hahar motions for Gebreselassie to come forward. Hahar throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Hahar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hahar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gebreselassie manages to avoid it.

Hahar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gebreselassie was well out of range. Poor timing from Hahar.

Hahar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hahar postures up.

Hahar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hahar tries to free his leg and advance position but Gebreselassie is retaining full guard.

Hahar drops back looking for a leg! Gebreselassie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gebreselassie manages to kick Hahar off! Hahar jumps back into Gebreselassie's guard.

Hahar wants to control from the top but Gebreselassie keeps moving.
Gebreselassie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hahar wants to pass the guard but Gebreselassie is keeping the position.

Hahar stands and steps away. Gebreselassie gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's time! Gebreselassie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Gebreselassie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hahar swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Hahar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gebreselassie won't be happy with that.

Well Hahar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
