Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jed Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason McGully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason McGully is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jed Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason McGully!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim looks to land a combination but McGully avoids it well.
Kim misses with a body shot.
Kim wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
McGully closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kim circles away.
Kim thuds his right hand into McGully's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McGully lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kim circles away quickly and effectively.
McGully stalks Kim and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kim's face. Kim staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Jed Kim has been cut.
McGully throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kim's waist but Kim gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGully off to one side.
McGully tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kim swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McGully closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kim misses with a jab to the body

and McGully decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kim's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGully is stalling in the full guard.
McGully with a flurry of punches that miss.
McGully throwing strikes from guard but Kim blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McGully sitting in guard here, content to control.

McGully drops back looking for a leg! Kim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kim manages to kick McGully off! McGully jumps back into Kim's guard.
McGully trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McGully throws a big right hand that misses.

McGully drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McGully jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGully drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kim manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McGully has Kim in his guard.

McGully is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kim frees his head nicely. Oh but McGully has switched to an armbar! Kim is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Jason McGully!
