Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bee J Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiny SparBJJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bee J Ping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tiny SparBJJ!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
SparBJJ throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

SparBJJ shoots in and bounces Ping off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ping has SparBJJ pulled in close to control his posture.
SparBJJ stopping the sweep attempt from Ping.
Ping looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
SparBJJ won't allow Ping to sweep him here.

Ping looking to control but SparBJJ passes into half guard.
Ping is looking to improve his position.

Ping looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

SparBJJ is looking for a kimura but Ping is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for SparBJJ to get the leverage.
Ping is trying to get back to full guard.

SparBJJ not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
SparBJJ wants to take a breather but Ping is having none of it.
Ping moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

SparBJJ got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ping has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, SparBJJ has managed to get both his arms back between Ping's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ping wants to sweep but no luck.

Ping escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. SparBJJ gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ping is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and SparBJJ defends well.
Ping utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

SparBJJ wants to control from the top but Ping keeps moving.

That was a close round but I would say that Bee J Ping will probably get the nod.

Ping throws a lazy right hand but SparBJJ sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ping displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from SparBJJ.

Ping fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ping pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces SparBJJ back to the cage. Ping follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Tiny SparBJJ has been cut.

SparBJJ is looking to clinch but Ping is avoiding it.
Bee J Ping is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ping keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bee J Ping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiny SparBJJ.
Ping throws a hook to the side of SparBJJ's head but SparBJJ sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

SparBJJ seems to be working for a kimura but Ping defends the submission attempt.

SparBJJ looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ping regains full guard. Nicely done.

Ping looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ping bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in SparBJJ's guard.

SparBJJ is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ping sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed SparBJJ's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ping is thwarting SparBJJ's attempts to control the position.
SparBJJ has hold of Ping's hands but Ping slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
SparBJJ works his way to full guard. Good work.

That's time! Ping's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Ping throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ping slaps away a takedown attempt from SparBJJ, before circling back to the center of the mat.
SparBJJ ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A combination from Ping does no damage.
Ping misses with an uppercut. SparBJJ saw that one coming.
SparBJJ missing with a left hand there. Ping was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Ping fakes high and swings low for a body shot but SparBJJ manages to avoid it.

SparBJJ steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ping.
Horrible takedown by SparBJJ or perhaps it was just good defense by Ping which made him look bad.

Bee J Ping overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
SparBJJ is trying to control. Ping wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
SparBJJ is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
SparBJJ working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

SparBJJ thows a huge punch but Ping dodges it nicely.
Ping tries to roll over but SparBJJ keeps him under control.

SparBJJ is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ping is just riding it out for now. SparBJJ eventually gives up the hold.
Tiny SparBJJ has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bee J Ping.
Well Ping has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
