PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miquel Prado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaahl Infernus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prado comes to the ring accompanied by Top Gun - Highway to the Dangerzone . Infernus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Game. Gaahl Infernus will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miquel Prado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gaahl Infernus!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Infernus throws an overhand right that lands on Prado's shoulder, as Prado tries to avoid the shot.
Infernus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Prado.
Infernus tries to clinch but Prado moves out of range.
Infernus misses with a hook. Prado ducked under it nicely.
Infernus fails with an attempt to clinch.
Prado shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Infernus as he jumps to the side.
Infernus throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Prado has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Prado there as he acknowledges the shot.
Infernus moves to clinch but Prado breaks away
and Prado counters with a straight right hand.
Infernus throws a leg kick but Prado sees it coming and moves out of range.

Infernus fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Prado, pushing him back against the ropes.
Infernus lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Prado backwards.
Infernus lands an elbow just above Prado 's eye.


It looks like Miquel Prado has been cut.

Prado scores with a hook to the body.
Infernus keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Prado's efforts to push away.
Prado wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Prado blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Infernus prevents Prado from breaking the clinch.
Prado wants to get back to striking at distance but Infernus won't allow it.

Infernus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Infernus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Prado.
Infernus throws a low kick but Prado avoids it.
The crowd cheers as Infernus lands an impressive looking overhand right. Prado doesn't seem phased though.

Good leg kick by Infernus there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Prado closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Infernus did well to prevent Prado getting side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Prado is keen to just control but Infernus is a slippery customer.

Infernus throws a solid leg kick but Prado takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Infernus.

Infernus takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Infernus tries to bum rush Prado with a series of wild strikes but Prado uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A looping hook to the body misses from Infernus. Prado does a little dance to reset his feet.
Infernus avoids a punch combination nicely.
Prado walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Prado missing with a left hand there. Infernus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Prado looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Infernus is fending him off so far but Prado persists. Nope, Infernus circles away and we're back to standing.

Prado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Prado stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Gaahl Infernus has been cut.
Prado has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Infernus.
Infernus looks for the body kick but Prado saw that one coming.

Prado works the jab nicely.
Prado moves out of range of the strikes.
Prado lands a jab.
Infernus tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Prado manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Infernus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Prado, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
