Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seifer Shinra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stu Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinra's entrance music is Final Fantasy 7 Boss Battle Theme. A fine choice. Ivanov has chosen Follow the Tears as his entrance music. Seifer Shinra has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ivanov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shinra postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ivanov is trying to control the position but Shinra postures up.
Ivanov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shinra kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Shinra might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ivanov keeping moving, preventing Shinra from controlling successfully.
Shinra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shinra sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ivanov's guard.
Ivanov wants to control but Shinra is keeping busy.
Shinra not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Shinra is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shinra wants to pass to mount but Ivanov is defending the position.

Shinra is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ivanov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ivanov tries to hold on but Shinra pushes him away.

Shinra is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ivanov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ivanov shrugs it off.

Shinra is working for a guillotine from mount but Ivanov frees his head quite easily.

Shinra is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ivanov has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Shinra cracks Ivanov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Shinra has hold of Ivanov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ivanov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
