The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacManus tries to clinch
and Pakamara counters with a series of strikes. MacManus will be more careful next time no doubt.
MacManus fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
MacManus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pakamara paws at him with a jab and circles away.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Connor MacManus hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

MacManus is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pakamara can't fight it off and eventually MacManus manages to take the fight to the floor. Pakamara looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. MacManus connects with a nice short shot to Pakamara's temple.

MacManus drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pakamara manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now MacManus has Pakamara in his guard.

Pakamara jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… MacManus is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by MacManus and Pakamara has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well MacManus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
