Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Havel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boyd's entrance music is Family Tradition . A fine choice. Micheal Havel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Boyd!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Micheal Havel!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Havel circles away quickly and effectively.
Boyd takes a swing at Havel's ribcage but misses.
Havel tries to clinch up.
Havel slips under a jab from Boyd.
Havel slips a straight right by Boyd.
Boyd throws a nice outside leg kick.
Havel throws a body punch but Boyd moves out of range.
Havel moves out of range of the strikes.
Havel throws a series of strikes that have Boyd backpedaling.


It looks like Alexander Boyd has been cut.
Boyd lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Havel blocks a jab.
Boyd ducks under a wild hook from Havel.
Havel misses with a looping right.
Havel closes the distance but Boyd moves to the side
and Boyd counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Havel thinking.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boyd bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Boyd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Havel tries to clinch but Boyd is having none of it.
Havel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The fight stays on the outside here - Havel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Boyd counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Boyd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Havel as he jumps to the side.

Boyd throws a right and a left that both miss.
Havel tries to bum rush Boyd with a series of wild strikes but Boyd uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Boyd counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Havel throws a jab but it's blocked by Boyd.

Havel darts in and clinches Boyd up against the cage.
Boyd tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Havel's elbow.
Havel is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Havel's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Havel is trying to force a seperation but Boyd has the dominant position.
Boyd keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Havel's efforts to push away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boyd goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Havel scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Havel tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Boyd's elbow.
Boyd is working Havel over against the cage.
Boyd blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Boyd lands with a short shot to the head.

Havel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boyd pinned against the cage. Boyd gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Havel takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Havel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boyd manages to avoid it.
Boyd slips a straight right by Havel.
Havel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Havel takes one on the button.
Boyd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Boyd throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Havel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boyd.

Boyd connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Havel momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Havel throws a body punch but Boyd moves out of range.
The fighters circling - Boyd throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Havel pushes Boyd off looking to stand but Boyd dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A good leg kick by Boyd.
Boyd slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Boyd works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Boyd slips a jab from Havel.
Boyd walks into a straight right hand from Havel.

Boyd feints and as Havel raises his hands in defense, Boyd changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Boyd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Havel's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boyd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Boyd looking to sit in guard and control but Havel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Boyd had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Havel defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Havel trying to control the position from guard on top but Boyd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Boyd looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyd might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Boyd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Havel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Havel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Havel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Boyd seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Boyd wants to sweep here but Havel controlling him for the moment.
Boyd is looking to sweep but instead, Havel has passed into half guard.
Boyd slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Boyd isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Havel stacks Boyd on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Havel!

Boyd tries to buck Havel off but Havel is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyd is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Havel off and has taken his back!

Boyd is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Havel with him. Havel is trying to defend but Boyd has an arm under the chin now! Havel grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alexander Boyd!
