Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between nat north (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julli Pulli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Julli Pulli was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pulli scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
north stops Pulli from passing to mount.

Pulli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. north knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pulli is looking to take a break and control but north is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
north is looking for a sweep.

Pulli tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Pulli thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pulli wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by north, who protects the arm well.
north tries to bench press Pulli off him but Pulli keeps the position.
Pulli tries to advance to mount but can't.
north is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pulli's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

north tries to roll over but Pulli keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pulli walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. north checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
north uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pulli.
Pulli misses with a takedown attempt - north sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pulli closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
north is staying active underneath Pulli, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Pulli is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

north moves into full guard.
Pulli lands a couple of elbows.
Pulli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. north swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pulli sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed north's guard.

Pulli is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pulli is pressing down on north's thigh, looking to free his foot. north is holding on for now.

north is looking to control Pulli's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can north avoid being mounted?
Pulli thows a huge punch but north dodges it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

north closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pulli has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. north is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

nat north has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julli Pulli.

Pulli is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. north doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pulli.

Pulli has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. north doesn't defend quickly enough and Pulli has managed to lock this one up! Can north escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pulli on a fantastic submission victory.
