Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Cabrillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Torque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torque has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Cabrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwayne Torque!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrillo connects with an inside leg kick.
Torque looks gassed!
Cabrillo misses with a wild combination.
Cabrillo just misses with a punch to the body.
Torque keeps the fight on the outside.
Cabrillo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Torque but Torque pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cabrillo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cabrillo lands a head shot.

Cabrillo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Torque quickly recovers to half guard.

Cabrillo thows a huge punch but Torque dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cabrillo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Cabrillo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Juan Cabrillo.
Cabrillo wants to clinch.
Cabrillo tries to close the distance and clinch but Torque swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cabrillo scores with a decent looking hook.
Cabrillo throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cabrillo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cabrillo lands a jab to Torque's midsection.

Torque gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cabrillo to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cabrillo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Torque really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cabrillo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Juan Cabrillo just wasn't active enough.

Cabrillo dives in and scores a takedown into Torque's guard.
Cabrillo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cabrillo lands the left hand.
Torque takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A good leg kick by Cabrillo.
Cabrillo tries to close the distance and clinch but Torque swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cabrillo connects with a solid leg kick.

Cabrillo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Torque to the mat! Torque manages to get full guard.
Cabrillo advances to half guard.
Torque is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cabrillo scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cabrillo content to control rather than advance.
Torque is breathing heavily.
Cabrillo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Cabrillo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Torque for as long as he can get away with.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Juan Cabrillo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Torque showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cabrillo.

Cabrillo has Torque up against the cage in a clinch.
Cabrillo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Cabrillo lands an elbow inside.
Cabrillo stalling in the clinch but Torque improves position.
Torque takes an elbow to the forehead.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Cabrillo.
Torque blocks an elbow strike from Cabrillo.
Cabrillo is pushing Torque up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Cabrillo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Torque's defenses.
Torque prevents a takedown attempt there.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Cabrillo misses with an elbow over the top.
Cabrillo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cabrillo wants to stall.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Juan Cabrillo.

Cabrillo forces Torque back against the cage and clinches.
Cabrillo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Torque can do to turn this around?
Cabrillo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juan Cabrillo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cabrillo manages to break the clinch.
Torque avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A nice inside leg kick there by Cabrillo. That's going to slow Torque down.

Torque circles away from the clinch attempt.
Juan Cabrillo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cabrillo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Torque manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cabrillo lands a nice looking body shot.

Cabrillo drives through with a takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Torque can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cabrillo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Torque's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cabrillo is pushing down on Torque's leg trying to pass to half guard. Torque is fighting to maintain full guard but Cabrillo has managed to sneak the leg through.
Cabrillo wants to take a breather but Torque is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cabrillo in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Torque tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Cabrillo!
