Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joni Koivuharju!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Petur Gretarsson!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gretarsson blocks a head kick by Koivuharju.
A jab-cross combination lands for Koivuharju and sends Gretarsson crashing to the mat! Koivuharju follows him down to the mat - Gretarsson regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
It looks like Petur Gretarsson has been cut.
Gretarsson is looking to improve his position.
Gretarsson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Koivuharju is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Koivuharju has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gretarsson is proving hard to escape from.
Gretarsson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Gretarsson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Koivuharju! Gretarsson is out on his feet! Koivuharju rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Gretarsson is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Gretarsson is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
