Kaipainen's entrance music is Fredi - Puhu hiljaa rakkaudesta. A fine choice. Jesse Kelly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaipainen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kelly takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kaipainen pushes Kelly away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kelly gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Kaipainen is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Kelly off. It looks like it's working - Kelly slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Kaipainen displaying calm under pressure there.
Kelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kaipainen throws the left hand but Kelly avoids the punch easily.

Kelly shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaipainen sprawls well. He's pushed Kelly's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kaipainen catches Kelly with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaipainen wants to stand and escape but Kelly is having none of it.
Kelly slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kelly postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kelly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kaipainen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
