The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savagery moves into the clinch.

Savagery escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Williams connects with a leg kick. Savagery looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Savagery shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Williams scores with a hook.

Williams gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Savagery to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Williams wants to stand but Savagery is controlling the position.
Savagery wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Savagery is working Williams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Williams can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Savagery controls the pace.

Savagery decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Williams, up you get!
Savagery takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Williams lunges at Savagery with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Savagery 's hand.
Wiremu Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Williams lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Savagery fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Williams checks it well.
Savagery takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
