The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Antunes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Machete on his heels. He'll look to pass Machete's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Machete wants to control the position but Antunes says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Antunes is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Machete still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Machete has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Machete connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Antunes some visible discomfort.
