He only made it down to 156.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Assman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Pham has hold of one of Assman's legs. Assman is fighting the takedown attempt but Pham gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Pham must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Assman looking for a guillotine here but Pham defends easily.

Pham working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Assman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Assman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pham looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Assman trying to control the position from guard on top but Pham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Assman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pham is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Assman pushes down on Pham's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Pham moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Pham is looking for a triangle but Assman pushes his legs off easily.

Assman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pham some visible discomfort.

Assman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Assman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Assman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pham is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Assman is looking to take a break and control but Pham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Assman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Pham is looking to reverse the position.

Pham is desperately trying to improve his position but Assman has a good base and remains in mount.

Assman working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Pham turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Assman off and cradles Pham's limp body as Assman celebrates with his corner.
