PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Breen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Breen throws a right and a left that Machado avoids nicely.
A jab lands there for Machado.

Machado closes the distance and clinches.
Machado throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Breens head.
Machado blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Machado is pressed up against the cage. Breen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Machado down to the mat. Machado avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Machado can do anything to dispel that myth.
Breen wants to take a breather but Machado is having none of it.

Machado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Breen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Breen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Breen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Breen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Machado pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Machado counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Breen thinking.
Machado steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Breen. That one must have hurt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Machado closes the distance and pushes Breen back into the cage.
