Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sorgi Kartov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kartov comes into the arena with Coal Chamber - Loco blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Kartov.
Kartov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kartov misses with a body kick.
Kartov throws a jab but it's blocked by St Pierre.
Kartov throws a nice head kick!

St Pierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - St Pierre lands in his opponent's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kartov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kartov is adopting a defensive guard.

St Pierre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

St Pierre postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as St Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

St Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and St Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

St Pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
St Pierre wants to pass the guard but Kartov is keeping the position.

St Pierre has gone for a leg lock! Kartov slips out almost immediately though and dives into St Pierre's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now St Pierre is on top in guard.
Kartov trying to keep a closed guard but St Pierre is proving a slippery customer.

St Pierre gets to his feet - Kartov follows without any prompting.
St Pierre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
St Pierre tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kartov swivels and escapes.

St Pierre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kartov is fending him off so far but St Pierre persists. Nope, Kartov circles away and we're back to standing.
Sorgi Kartov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix St Pierre.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kartov.
Kartov misses with a head kick.
Kartov just misses with a punch to the body.
St Pierre fails with a takedown attempt.
Kartov throws the kick towards the body but St Pierre avoids it.

Kartov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kartov. St Pierre does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kartov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kartov throws a push kick but St Pierre slaps the foot to one side.

and St Pierre counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

St Pierre is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kartov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time St Pierre.

A close round but Felix St Pierre will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kartov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kartov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping St Pierre at a distance.

Kartov tries a head kick but it misses.
St Pierre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kartov is fending him off so far but St Pierre persists. Nope, Kartov circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from Kartov. No joy for St Pierre on that attempt.
Kartov throws a leg kick but St Pierre checks it.
St Pierre on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than St Pierre was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kartov tries to hold on but St Pierre postures up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
St Pierre thowing shots but they're missing.

St Pierre jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kartov manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Felix St Pierre has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kartov is trying to improve his position.

St Pierre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kartov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kartov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but St Pierre is controlling him well.

St Pierre has hold of Kartov's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kartov tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - St Pierre cranks the arm and Kartov screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kartov, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
