The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BloodWing throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Herdy counters with an inside leg kick.
Herdy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. BloodWing manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
BloodWing misses with a head kick.
BloodWing will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
BloodWing throws a nice looking combination but Herdy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Herdy tries to clinch up but BloodWing circles away and keeps his distance.
BloodWing keeps the fight on the outside.

It looks like Angel BloodWing has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Herdy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed BloodWing momentarily.

BloodWing avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oh BloodWing is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fight stays on the outside here - Herdy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No luck for BloodWing with that takedown attempt.
BloodWing scores with a one two! Herdy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
BloodWing seems to have got his legs back now.
Herdy stuffs the takedown attempt from BloodWing. BloodWing gets slowly back to his feet.
Herdy lands with a shot to the body.

Herdy thows a body shot but no joy.
Herdy throws a right hand that BloodWing ducks under and follows up with a left that BloodWing also avoids with ease.
BloodWing misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Herdy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
BloodWing takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Paolo Herdy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

BloodWing looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Herdy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

BloodWing is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

BloodWing wants to pass the guard but Herdy is defending well.
Herdy tries to roll over but BloodWing keeps him under control.
Herdy is in trouble now - BloodWing has advanced to mount!
BloodWing avoids the attempt from Herdy to control.

BloodWing scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Herdy?
BloodWing throwing strikes here but Herdy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Herdy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Herdy tries to hold on but BloodWing pushes him away.

Herdy is squirming around, avoiding BloodWing's attempts to control the action.
Herdy seems to have recovered his senses.
BloodWing postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Herdy looks a forlorn figure.

BloodWing loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Herdy scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from BloodWing land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. BloodWing stands and salutes the crowd.
