The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preuss keeps the fight on the outside.
Sylvia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Preuss defends it nicely.
Preuss waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sylvia.
Preuss looks to throw the jab but Sylvia is out of range.
Preuss loads up on a big right hand but Sylvia slips the punch.
Preuss throws an off balance right hand
and Sylvia counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Sylvia fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Preuss lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Robert Sylvia has been cut.
Preuss thows a left - swing and a miss!
Preuss throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sylvia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Preuss was well out of range. Poor timing from Sylvia.
Preuss throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sylvia counters with a stiff right hand.
Sylvia uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Preuss.
Sylvia uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Preuss.
Preuss cracks Sylvia with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Preuss takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sylvia moves away from the strike by Preuss.
Preuss throws a poor cross that misses
and Sylvia counters with a head kick.

Sylvia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Preuss desperately trying to maintain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sylvia is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Preuss!
Preuss knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sylvia on the ground.
Preuss is trying desperately to improve position.

Sylvia quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Sylvia but it's paid off an Preuss is forced to tap! Nice work by Sylvia.
