Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilberto Duque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laranja's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fruits and Vegetables. Gilberto Duque has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Renato Laranja's chin.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja throws a leg kick
so Duque counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Duque won't allow Laranja to get back to his feet.

Duque drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Duque jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Duque postures up in Laranja's guard and throws a big left but Laranja blocks it.
Laranja knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duque on the ground.

Duque is looking to take a break and control but Laranja is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Duque is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Laranja is trying to escape and Duque transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Laranja is forced to tap! Nice work there by Duque! Very nice indeed!
