PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fatso Bomber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bomber has chosen The Champ as his entrance music. Fatso Bomber told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brock Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fatso Bomber!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomber lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Brock Lesnar has been cut.
Bomber shoots in but Lesnar avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bomber moves in looking to clinch but Lesnar pushes him off.
Bomber tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lesnar swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fatso Bomber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bomber shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lesnar as he jumps to the side.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bomber stuffs the takedown attempt from Lesnar. Lesnar gets slowly back to his feet.
Bomber throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bomber lands a left and a right that send Lesnar crashing to the mat, dazed. Bomber thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Lesnar slaps away a takedown attempt from Bomber, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Brock Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fatso Bomber.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lesnar rushes Bomber and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bomber breaks the clinch.

Bomber darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lesnar is not content to let Bomber control the position.
Lesnar is looking for a sweep. Bomber is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bomber is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lesnar is just riding it out for now. Bomber eventually gives up the hold.
Lesnar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lesnar is looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bomber throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bomber tries to pass to full mount but Lesnar defends it.

Bomber is working for a kimura but Lesnar is defending it quite comfortably.
Lesnar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bomber on the ground.
Bomber passes to full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bomber goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lesnar is on top in guard.
Lesnar scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Lesnar lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bomber escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesnar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bomber not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bomber utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bomber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lesnar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lesnar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fatso Bomber dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Brock Lesnar's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lesnar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bomber throws a combination. Lesnar tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Fatso Bomber seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Lesnar gets caught napping as Bomber dives in and scores a takedown. Lesnar manages to retain guard.
Bomber scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bomberis looking to pass into half guard but Lesnar pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lesnar is in guard.
Lesnar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lesnar postures up in Bomber's guard and throws a big left but Bomber blocks it.

Lesnar wants to pass the guard but Bomber is keeping the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bomber looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bomber is breathing heavily.
Bomber utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lesnar connects with a couple of short punches.
Bomber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lesnar is one step ahead there.
Lesnar landing some decent shots from guard.
Lesnar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lesnar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bomber's head.
Bomber tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lesnar scoring with punches to the head and body.
Lesnar lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Lesnar lands a couple of digs.
Lesnar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bomber has momentary wrist control but Lesnar slips an elbow through the middle.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bomber is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lesnar passes Bomber's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lesnar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bomber is looking to control Lesnar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bomber avoid being mounted?
Lesnar looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bomber works his way to full guard. Good work.

The cut man is working on Brock Lesnar's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bomber avoids the body shot from Lesnar.
A head kick misses from Bomber.
Bomber is looking to clinch.

Bomber forces Lesnar back against the cage and clinches.
Lesnar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bomber gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lesnar is working for takedown but Bomber is calmly controlling the position for now.
Bomber gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lesnar.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A knee to the head by Bomber.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lesnar is working for takedown but Bomber is calmly controlling the position for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lesnar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bomber pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Bomber turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bomber manages to end up in side control.
Lesnar controls the position for a moment.
Bomber controls the position from side control.
Bomber is looking to take a break and control but Lesnar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bomber fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Bomber working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bomber tries to score with some ground and pound. Lesnar controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bomber tries to advance to mount but Lesnar instead regains half guard.

Bomber stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Bomber fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Lesnar. No joy for Bomber on that attempt.
Bomber shoots in looking for a takedown but Lesnar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bomber's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bomber fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Lesnar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bomber wants to improve his position but Lesnar is controlling well.
Bomber on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fatso Bomber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bomber has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
