Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mao Zedong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ezio Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zedong throws a nice head kick!
Zedong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Castillo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Castillo won't allow Zedong to get back to his feet.
Castillo wants to pass the guard but Zedong is keeping the position.

Castillo shoots for a double leg takedown but Zedong sprawls well. He's pushed Castillo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ezio Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zedong throws a right and a left that Castillo avoids nicely.
Zedong pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Castillo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zedong defends it nicely.

Horrible takedown by Castillo or perhaps it was just good defense by Zedong which made him look bad.

Castillo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zedong did well to prevent Castillo getting side control.

Castillo dives in and grabs Zedong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zedong pushes down on Castillo's head and hops out.
Zedong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zedong wants it to stay on the feet.
Castillo looks gassed!
Zedong plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Zedong bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A head kick from Zedong lands but Castillo takes it in his stride.

Zedong feints a jab promting Castillo to slip. Zedong then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Castillo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Zedong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Castillo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zedong.

Castillo shoots in for a takedown but Zedong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That kick from Zedong tenderised Castillo's leg. Castillo is trying to keep his angry face on.

Castillo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Castillo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Zedong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Castillo, into his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Zedong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castillo on the ground.
Castillo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Zedong gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Zedong stuffs the takedown attempt from Castillo. Castillo gets slowly back to his feet.
Castillo tries for a takedown but Zedong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mao Zedong dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Zedong lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Castillo closes the distance and clinches up with Zedong, looking for a takedown. Castillo pushes Zedong against the cage but Zedong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Castillo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zedong pinned against the cage. Zedong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Zedong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Zedong slaps away a takedown attempt from Castillo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Zedong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Castillo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Castillo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Castillo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zedong was covering up waiting for the punch and Castillo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Zedong throws a sloppy head kick and Castillo moves out of range easily.

Castillo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zedong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Zedong pushes Castillo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Castillo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Castillo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Zedong looks calm but he's in trouble here. Castillo gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Zedong is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Castillo lets go of the hold and Zedong can pop his arm back in it's socket.
