Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liam Donnely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigori Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donnely comes to the cage accompanied by Hayling- FC Kahuna. Grigori Rasputin acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Donnely!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Grigori Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rasputin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Rasputin has closed the distance and engaged Donnely in a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Donnely throws an elbow but misses.
Donnely tries to score a body lock takedown but Rasputin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rasputin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rasputin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Donnely taking a breather.
Donnely is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Rasputin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Donnely tries a head kick but it misses.
Donnely tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rasputin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rasputin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Donnely.

Donnely throws a head kick but Rasputin moves out of range.
Donnely tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Donnely tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rasputin just stands there and leans against the cage.

Rasputin drags the fight down to the ground.
Donnely postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Rasputin can't keep his opponent in guard - Donnely advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Donnely winds up and cracks Rasputin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Rasputin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Donnely!

Rasputin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Donnely to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Donnely shrugs it off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rasputin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Donnely tries to lock up and control but Rasputin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rasputin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Donnely is trying desperately to improve position.
Rasputin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Donnely is wriggling around trying to escape.
Donnely wants to hold on but Rasputin pushes him away.
Donnely is working to get back to half guard.

Rasputin working for a submission but Donnely is keeping him at bay.

Rasputin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Donnely is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rasputin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Donnely does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Donnely flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Donnely won't allow Rasputin to pass to mount.
Donnely is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Donnely has a hand on Rasputin's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rasputin takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Donnely is squirming around, avoiding Rasputin's attempts to control the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rasputin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Donnely to the ground. Rasputin is now in Donnely's guard.
Donnely looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Donnely is working hard here to advance position.

Donnely is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rasputin is aware though and is defending well.

Rasputin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rasputin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rasputin gets to his feet. Donnely looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rasputin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Donnely enables Rasputin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Donnely manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Let's hope that Rasputin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rasputin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Donnely can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Grigori Rasputin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Donnely pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Donnely throws a looping overhand right but Rasputin ducks down to avoid it.
Donnely throws the left hand but Rasputin avoids the punch easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Donnely jumps guard but Rasputin stands there with Donnely around his waist. Donnely gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Donnely pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rasputin shoots in for a takedown but Donnely shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Donnely tries a head kick but it misses.

Rasputin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Donnely manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Rasputin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Donnely will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Donnely is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rasputin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Rasputin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Donnely won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rasputin is staying tight to Donnely's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Rasputin stands up and beckons Donnely to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rasputin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Donnely's half guard.
Grigori Rasputin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Still in half guard, Rasputin seems content to control.

Grigori Rasputin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rasputin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
