PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mack Phace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Phace might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Undecided" by Silverchair. Paul Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Phace. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Phace throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Phace can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.

Phace closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Phace is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jones can't fight it off and eventually Phace manages to take the fight to the floor. Jones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Phace's waist but Phace gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Mack Phace will probably get the nod.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Phace tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Phace to the ground. Phace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
