Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dino Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Gajnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams comes into the arena with Rush - Limelight blaring out of the sound system. Dino Adams has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Gajnik!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gajnik gets the takedown into side control.

Gajnik decides to stand back up.

Gajnik closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Adams did well to prevent Gajnik getting side control.
Gajnik seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Adams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Adams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Adams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gajnik's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Adams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gajnik wants to get back to his feet but Adams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Nick Gajnik has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Adams is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Gajnik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Adams can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gajnik controls the pace.

Adams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gajnik is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gajnik dives on top into guard.

Adams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gajnik defends it easily.
Gajnik lands a couple of elbows.
Gajnik wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving.
Gajnik would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gajnik looking to improve position, pressing down on Adams's thigh with his hand. Adams seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Gajnik paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Gajnik's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Adams picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
