The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monster takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Cookie Monster has been cut.

Monster shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jenkins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Monster with a flurry of punches that miss.
Monster throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jenkins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monster has gone for a leg lock! Jenkins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Monster's guard.
Monster being controlled here, momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Monster is looking for a triangle but Jenkins pushes his legs off easily.
Jenkins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jenkins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Monster knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

It looks like Jenkins is going to stand back up.
Monster wants to improve his position but Jenkins is controlling well.
Monster wants to control but Jenkins is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jenkins wants to pass to mount but Monster is defending the position.

Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Monster keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Monster is staying active underneath Jenkins, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Monster stops Jenkins from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Jenkins is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Monster to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Monster shrugs it off.

Monster tries to improve his position but Jenkins has taken his back! Jenkins has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Monster tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Jenkins pushes Monster away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
