Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Zaicev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Venomchops Batley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batley keeps the fight on the outside.
Zaicev swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Batley to counter with a crisp jab.

Zaicev moves into range and clinches up with Batley.
Zaicev lands an elbow inside that Batley shrugs off.

Zaicev has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Batley uses from the top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Zaicev wriggles free and stands up.

enabling Batley to counter with a crisp jab.
Zaicev tries to clinch up but Batley circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Batley misses with a body punch.
Zaicev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Batley walks away with a smile on his face. Zaicev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Zaicev doesn't manage to clinch there - Batley circles away.
Zaicev moves in looking to clinch but Batley pushes him off.
Batley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Zaicev moves into range and clinches up with Batley.
Zaicev has Batley pressed against the cage, preventing Batley from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Zaicev ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zaicev no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Batley is looking to stand up but Zaicev won't let him.
Zaicev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Batley stands and steps away. Zaicev gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Batley misses with a body punch.
Zaicev stalling in the clinch but Batley improves position.
Zaicev lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Zaicev comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Zaicev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Batley pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Batley tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Zaicev's elbow.

Zaicev manages to break the clinch.
Zaicev wants to clinch.
Zaicev tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Batley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Zaicev rushes Batley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Batley throws the left hand but Zaicev avoids the punch easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Zaicev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zaicev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Batley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tim Zaicev will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Batley throws out a powerful jab.

and Batley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zaicev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Batley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zaicev somewhat.

Zaicev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Batley avoids it really well and circles away.

Batley connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Zaicev's hands.
Tim Zaicev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Zaicev tries to clinch there but Batley circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Batley, as that shot connected.

and Batley counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Zaicev gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Zaicev tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Batley is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Zaicev buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Zaicev!! Zaicev is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Batley throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
