Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wiggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Wiggins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wiggins tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Brown is able to avoid easily.

Brown shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brown showed some decent athleticism there.

Brown is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wiggins sees it coming and defends easily.

Brown is looking for a kimura but Wiggins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brown to get the leverage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wiggins tries for a takedown but Brown sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Brown blocks a head kick by Wiggins.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wiggins throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.

Wiggins goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Brown misses with a two punch combination.
Wiggins stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamal Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brown closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wiggins's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown is really struggling to control Wiggins but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Wiggins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wiggins wants to sweep here but Brown controlling him for the moment.

Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wiggins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Wiggins has a closed guard, preventing Brown from standing up.
Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Wiggins is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jamal Brown wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Brown misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wiggins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wiggins gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brown has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wiggins doesn't defend quickly enough and Brown has managed to lock this one up! Can Wiggins escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Brown on a fantastic submission victory.
