The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPheters throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Escobar connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
McPheters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Escobar is fending him off so far but McPheters persists. Nope, Escobar circles away and we're back to standing.
McPheters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Escobar tries to avoid it but McPheters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Escobar to the ground. Escobar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McPheters has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Escobar.
