The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steptoe has his takedown stuffed
and Kawozinazaki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Steptoe!
Kawozinazaki prevents Steptoe from getting the reversal.
Steptoe is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kawozinazaki is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Steptoe avoids the head kick by Kawozinazaki.
Steptoe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kawozinazaki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kawozinazaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Steptoe was covering up waiting for the punch and Kawozinazaki finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Steptoe uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Kawozinazaki looks to land a combination but Steptoe avoids it well.

James Steptoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kawozinazaki misses with a hook. Steptoe ducked under it nicely.
Steptoe moves out of range of the body kick.

Kawozinazaki is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Steptoe has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kawozinazaki is looking to defend but Steptoe has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kawozinazaki! Steptoe pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kawozinazaki taps out and this one is all over!
