Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Orlando Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takamura Rendan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takamura Rendan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Orlando Fire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takamura Rendan!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rendan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Fire looking for submissions off his back.
Rendan blocks the strikes from Fire.
Fire is looking for a sweep. Rendan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rendan is trying to work for a kimura but Fire is defending well.
Rendan is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Fire on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fire tries to get out of the position.

Fire is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rendan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Fire looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Rendan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rendan has managed to get both his arms back between Fire's legs - danger averted.
Fire will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rendan looking to sit in guard and control but Fire gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fire postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close round but I would say that Orlando Fire will probably get the nod.

Rendan shoots in for a double leg but Fire sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fire tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rendan swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fire slaps away a takedown attempt from Rendan, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Orlando Fire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takamura Rendan.
Rendan pulls out of a head kick attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rendan tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Rendan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fire as he avoids it easily.
Rendan is breathing heavily.
Fire misses with a takedown attempt - Rendan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rendan closes the distance and clinches up with Fire, looking for a takedown. Rendan pushes Fire against the cage but Fire circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rendan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fire swivels and escapes.
Rendan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fire's waist but Fire gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rendan off to one side.

Fire is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fire drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fire jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Rendan shoots in and bounces Fire off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rendan wants to control from the top but Fire keeps moving.

Rendan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rendan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fire sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rendan somewhat.

Fire fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rendan avoids it really well and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rendan gets the takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.

Rendan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rendan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fire sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Fire wants to control but Rendan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rendan wants to take a breather but Fire is having none of it.
Fire tries to get to full guard but Rendan has control of the leg.
Rendan sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Fire preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Rendan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fire keeps working.

Takamura Rendan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fire has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
