Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Policia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Policia has chosen Darude - Sandstorm as his entrance music. John Policia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creed stuffs the takedown.
Policia connects with a solid leg kick.
Policia misses with an uppercut. Creed saw that one coming.
Creed looks to land a combination but Policia avoids it well.
Policia is looking to clinch but Creed is avoiding it.
Policia tries to clinch up.

Policia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Creed manages to avoid it.
Policia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Creed swivels and escapes.
Policia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Creed as he jumps to the side.
Apollo Creed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Policia.
Policia shoots for a double leg takedown but Creed sprawls well. He's pushed Policia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Creed displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Policia throws out the jab.

Creed scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Policia closes the distance looking to clinch
and Creed connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Creed throws a right and a left that both miss.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Creed wants to get back to striking at distance but Policia won't allow it.

Policia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Creed tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Policia counters by moving into the clinch.
Policia with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Creed misses with a hook from the clinch.
Creed wants to break the clinch but can't.
Policia connects with a nasty looking knee right to Creed's face.

Policia blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Creed wants to get back to striking at distance but Policia won't allow it.
Policia just leaning against Creed, taking a breather.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creed lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Policia has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Creed avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Policia scores with a knee to the head.
Creed working aggressively here.
Creed wants to break free but Policia has control.
Creed can't break the clinch.
Policia lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Policia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Policia tries to clinch
and Creed counters with a three punch combo that has Policia backing up. Policia nods at Creed to acknowledge the strikes.
Policia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Creed paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Policia dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Creed. That did some damage!

and Creed counters with a single leg into guard. Policia didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Creed wants to stand but Policia is controlling his posture from full guard.
Policia trying to keep a closed guard but Creed is proving a slippery customer.
Creed controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Apollo Creed dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Creed lands with a big right hook that stumbles Policia - he's out on his feet here! Creed follows up with another monster hook that separates Policia from consciousness! Policia falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Creed stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
