Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boy Kalawit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurnu Purnu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurnu Purnu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boy Kalawit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jurnu Purnu!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Purnu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kalawit wants to get back to full guard.

Kalawit looking for submissions off his back.
Kalawit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Purnu on the ground.
Purnu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kalawit tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Purnu manages to move to mount!
Purnu trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kalawit keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Purnu content just to control the position here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Let's hope that Purnu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Purnu lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Purnu lands a big shot there that rocks Kalawit but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Purnu postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kalawit looks a forlorn figure.


Kalawit is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Purnu is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Oh Kalawit is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Purnu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Purnu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Purnu lands strikes from half guard.
Purnu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Purnu stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kalawit to get to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kalawit enables Purnu to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kalawit manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Purnu is standing up over Kalawit. Kalawit looks to escape but Purnu dives into side control.
Kalawit is breathing heavily.
Kalawit is trying to escape the position but Purnu is controlling the position.
Kalawit seems to have got his legs back now.
Kalawit pushes Purnu away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Purnu gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Purnu in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Purnu tries for a kimura but Kalawit is defending well.
Purnu passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kalawit!

Purnu has hold of Kalawit's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kalawit manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Purnu lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kalawit hang on?

Purnu is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Purnu extends the arm and Kalawit is forced to tap!
