Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Carl Morton has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vince Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Morton wants to control but Dixon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dixon throwing shots but Morton is blocking nicely.
Dixon wants to take a breather but Morton is having none of it.
Dixon trying to control from Morton's half guard. Morton has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Dixon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Morton wants to get back to his feet but Dixon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dixon looking to sit in guard and control but Morton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Morton wants to control from the top but Dixon keeps moving.

Morton wants to get up but he can't break Dixon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Dixon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dixon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Morton wants to sweep here but Dixon controlling him for the moment.
Dixon wants to control from the top but Morton keeps moving.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Vince Dixon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Dixon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Morton's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Morton duly obliges.
Morton moves forwards but Dixon connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dixon takes a swing at Morton's ribcage but misses.

Dixon gets tackled into the cage by Morton. Morton maintains the clinch.
Morton throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Dixon misses with an elbow over the top.
Dixon missing with knees to the body.
Morton lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


That has opened up Vince Dixon's cut even more.
Morton slows down the pace here.

The cut above Vince Dixon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Morton unloads a knee to the mid-section. Dixon lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Vince Dixon's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Morton lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Vince Dixon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
