The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilkinson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burnside is fending him off so far but Wilkinson persists. Nope, Burnside circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from Burnside. No joy for Wilkinson on that attempt.

Wilkinson clinches.

Burnside manages to break the clinch.
Burnside could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wilkinson misses with a straight right.
Wilkinson scores with a jab to the body.
Wilkinson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Burnside throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wilkinson is looking to clinch.
Wilkinson throws a right hand that Burnside ducks under and follows up with a left that Burnside also avoids with ease.
Burnside swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Wilkinson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burnside tries to bum rush Wilkinson with a series of wild strikes but Wilkinson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wilkinson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Burnside's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Burnside duly obliges.

Wilkinson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Burnside looks to land a combination. Wilkinson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
