Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Butch Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Swis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Butch Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Axel Swis!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Swis showed some decent athleticism there.
Swis uses his free foot to push down on Gold's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gold.
Gold flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Swis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gold is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gold and Swis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gold is trying to control Swis's posture but Swis avoids it.
Swis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Swis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gold is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gold is looking to reverse the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gold is trying to control Swis's posture but Swis avoids it.

Swis stands up and beckons Gold to his feet.
Gold lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Swis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gold is defended easily by Swis.
Gold wants to clinch

and Swis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Swis.
Swis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gold is keeping the position for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Swis wants to control from the top but Gold keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gold keeping full guard, as Swis tries to pass.
Gold not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Swis wants to pass the guard but Gold is keeping the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gold is working an open guard so Swis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Gold is looking to clinch.
Gold shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Swis as he avoids it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Gold with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch Gold. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gold is breathing heavily.
Gold checks a leg kick.
Gold is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gold shoots in but Swis avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Swis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Swis lands in his opponent's guard.
Gold looking to hit a scissor sweep but Swis is one step ahead there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swis passes Gold's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Swis performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Swis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gold is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Swis jumps into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Axel Swis dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Gold tries to sprawl but Swis drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Swis prevents Gold from improving his position.
Swis passes to side control.
Swis is looking to take a break and control but Gold is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Swis works to advance to full mount. Gold defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Swis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gold is looking to escape.
Swis throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Swis there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Swis is trying to take his opponent's back.
Gold tries to hold on but Swis postures up.

Swis is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Gold is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Gold flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Swis anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Gold and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Swis slips an arm under Gold chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Swis has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Swis is squeezing on Gold like an anaconda would it's prey. Gold fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Axel Swis!
