The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verrus closes the distance and clinches up with Kennedy, looking for a takedown. Verrus pushes Kennedy against the cage but Kennedy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Uriel Verrus's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Verrus's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
