The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miguel misses with a kick to the body.

Mad closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Miguel tries to pull guard but Mad holds him up against the cage and eventually Miguel drops back down to his feet.

Mad pulls Miguel into guard.
Miguel trying to control but Mad is working from the bottom.
Miguel passes Mad's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Miguel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Miguel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mad looks gassed!

Miguel seems to be looking for submissions.
Mad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miguel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miguel has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Miguel throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

The referee warns Mad that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mad is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mad wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Miguel.

Miguel takes Mad's back.

Mad is trying to defend against the choke here but Miguel has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Miguel Tightens the hold and Mad taps out furiously! Miguel displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
