The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helinski tries to clinch up
and Houligan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Houligan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Helinski has hold of Houligan's hands but Houligan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Helinski is looking to get back to full guard here but Houligan has managed to pass to side control instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Helinski is trying to get back to half guard.
Helinski seems a little lost for a moment, as Houligan dominates the positioning.
Houligan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Houligan lands a few punches from side control.

Houligan connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Helinski some visible discomfort.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Helinski has eaten all the pies!
Helinski takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Houligan cracks Helinski with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Houligan immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Helinski is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Houligan!
