The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szczerek avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dos Santos looks to clinch
and Szczerek counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Szczerek is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Szczerek drops back looking for a leg! Dos Santos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dos Santos manages to kick Szczerek off! Szczerek jumps back into Dos Santos's guard.
Dos Santos wants to get back to his feet but Szczerek is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Szczerek wants to work for an arm triangle but Dos Santos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
