Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kalle Anka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frederick Stowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frederick Stowe told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kalle Anka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frederick Stowe!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anka fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stowe slaps away a takedown attempt from Anka, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stowe clinches with his opponent.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Stowe.

Stowe jumps guard but Anka stands there with Stowe around his waist. Stowe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anka is fighting off a takedown attempt but Stowe is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Anka to the mat. Anka regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Anka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stowe is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Anka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stowe as he jumps to the side.

That was a close round but I would say that Kalle Anka will probably get the nod.

Stowe is looking to clinch but Anka is avoiding it.
Kalle Anka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stowe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anka as he avoids it easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stowe can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anka misses with a takedown attempt - Stowe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Stowe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Anka tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anka has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kalle Anka is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
