The crowd seem to be enjoying Nesset's choice of entrance music: Grave Digger - Valhalla. Arnfinn Nesset has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ray Wickleby's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Wickleby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Arnfinn Nesset!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Nesset misses.
Wickleby feints a jab promting Nesset to slip. Wickleby then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nesset slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Nesset missing with a left hand there. Wickleby was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nesset tries to clinch up but Wickleby circles away and keeps his distance.

Wickleby throws a series of punches but Nesset avoids them all with ease.
Wickleby takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Some bone on bone action there as Wickleby checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Wickleby looks for a takedown but Nesset sprawls well.
Nesset keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Nesset uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wickleby.

Wickleby gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Nesset counter with a right hand.

Wickleby shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nesset napping and manages to drive through into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Nesset wants to get back to his feet but Wickleby drags him back down.
Wickleby is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nesset's shoulder. That is not cool.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wickleby wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nesset, who protects the arm well.
Nesset seems a little lost for a moment, as Wickleby dominates the positioning.
Nesset is trying to get back to half guard.
Wickleby wants to control but Nesset is keeping him busy.
Wickleby lands a nice forearm strike.
Wickleby wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nesset keeps working.

Nesset is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Nesset is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Wickleby off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nesset is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wickleby moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Wickleby closes the distance and clinches up with Nesset, looking for a takedown. Wickleby pushes Nesset against the cage but Nesset circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nesset lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nesset.

Whack! Nesset lands a heavy head kick that drops Wickleby. The ref tackles Nesset to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Wickleby was done.
