PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damn Good (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Buck Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buck Jr has chosen Converge - Worms Will Feed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Damn Good has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damn Good!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Forrest Buck Jr!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Buck Jr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Good avoids the head kick by Buck Jr.
Good misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Buck Jr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Good circles away quickly and effectively.
Buck Jr throws a half hearted mid kick.
Buck Jr has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Good finds it's way round the side to connect with Buck Jr's head.
Buck Jr is looking to chop away at Good's legs.
Good shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Buck Jr eats them both and turns towards Good to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Buck Jr takes a jab right on the kisser.
Buck Jr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Good scores with a hook.
Good throws a right and a left that Buck Jr avoids nicely.
Buck Jr throws the kick towards the body but Good avoids it.

and Good counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Buck Jr slips a jab and a cross from Good.
Good blocks a head kick by Buck Jr.
Good lands with a right hand.

Buck Jr is trying hard to land a takedown here. Good sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Buck Jr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Good manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Buck Jr is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Good.
Good will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Good throws a series of punches but Buck Jr moves out of range.
No joy there for Good, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Buck Jr misses with a takedown attempt - Good sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Damn Good has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Forrest Buck Jr.

Damn Good seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Good throws a low kick but it's checked well by Buck Jr.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Good throws a series of punches but Buck Jr avoids them all with ease.

and Buck Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Good won't be happy with that.

Buck Jr is looking to take a break and control but Good is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on Good's face as Buck Jr controls the position.

Buck Jr is working to tighten is grip on Good's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Good has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Buck Jr is really squeezing tight and eventually Good passes out! Buck Jr breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Forrest Buck Jr!
