PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elliot Stabler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stabler comes into the arena with Grown Men Don't Cry blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Collins's choice of entrance music: Irish Rebel Song. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elliot Stabler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Collins!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Stabler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stabler throws a right and a left that Collins avoids nicely.
Collins shoots in but no luck this time.
Stabler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Collins as he jumps to the side.
Stabler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Collins but Collins pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stabler fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elliot Stabler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Collins lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Elliot Stabler has been cut.
Stabler shoots for a takedown but Collins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Collins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stabler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Collins moves into the clinch successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Collins just misses with a punch to the body.
Collins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Collins lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
No luck for Stabler with that takedown attempt.
Stabler is breathing heavily.

Collins takes the fight into the clinch.

Collins successfully pulls guard.

Collins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Stabler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stabler trying to control but Collins is working from the bottom.
Stabler throws and elbow that misses. Collins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stabler's guard. Nice move by Collins!
Collins throwing strikes from guard but Stabler blocks nicely.

Collins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Collins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Collins. Stabler shrugs it off though.
Collins's corner calls for a 1-2. Collins obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Stabler shoots in and drives through. Collins sprawls well.
Stabler shoots in but Collins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Collins avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Collins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stabler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Collins somewhat.
Collins has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Collins.

Stabler shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Stabler wants to control but Collins is keeping him busy.
Collins is looking for a sweep. Stabler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Collins manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Collins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Stabler throwing strikes from guard but Collins blocks nicely.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stabler decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Collins clinches with his opponent.
A frustrated look appears on Stabler's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Collins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Collins shoots in for a takedown but Stabler shows good takedown defense.
Stabler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Stabler. Those never looked like landing.
Collins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stabler.
Collins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stabler circles away quickly and effectively.
Collins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stabler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Collins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stabler chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Collins can pounce on him.
Stabler shoots and misses
and Collins counters with a thumping low kick.
Stabler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Elliot Stabler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Collins shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stabler eats them both and turns towards Collins to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Collins's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Collins duly obliges.


Elliot Stabler's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Collins is looking to slow Stabler down with leg kicks.
Collins throws a push kick but Stabler slaps the foot to one side.
Collins throws a sloppy head kick and Stabler moves out of range easily.
Collins scores with a one two! Stabler had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Collins dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Elliot Stabler's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stabler misses with a double jab.


Stabler is rocked!
Collins misses with a wild combination.
Collins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Collins goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Oh Stabler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Collins throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Stabler stumbling backwards into the cage! Stabler bounces back off the cage towards Collins, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Collins lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Collins celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Max Collins!
