The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hughes sprawls well. Hughes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hughes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Hughes is defending well.
Jones working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Jones sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hughes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hughes can't do much from the bottom here.
Jones throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Hughes tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
Jones lands a decent elbow from side control.
Hughes parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hughes to escape.
Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Hughes is defending well.

Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working.
