PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocko Dentalplan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peking Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peking Duck told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duck misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Duck shoots in looking for a takedown but Dentalplan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duck's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Duck shoots for a takedown but Dentalplan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dentalplan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dentalplan prevents Duck from improving his position.

Duck looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Dentalplan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Duck is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dentalplan stands up and beckons Duck to join him on the feet.
Duck shoots in for a takedown but Dentalplan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rocko Dentalplan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peking Duck.
Duck tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dentalplan swivels and escapes.
Duck lands with an uppercut that bounces Dentalplan off the cage and back into range.

It looks like Rocko Dentalplan has been cut.
Dentalplan stuffs the takedown.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Dentalplan closes the distance and pushes Duck back into the cage.
Duck tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Dentalplan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dentalplan scores with a nice body kick.
Duck looks gassed!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice sprawl there from Dentalplan as Duck shoots in.
No luck for Duck with that takedown attempt.

Dentalplan forces Duck back against the cage and clinches.
Duck tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dentalplan lands a knee to the body.
Dentalplan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Duck up against the cage.

Dentalplan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Duck shoots for a double leg takedown but Dentalplan sprawls well. He's pushed Duck's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A right-left combo lands from Duck.

Dentalplan looking to score a takedown here. Duck is defending well but Dentalplan drives through and ends up in Duck's guard.
Duck is trying to control the position but Dentalplan postures up.
Dentalplan wants to get up but he can't break Duck's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Peking Duck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dentalplan connects with a high kick.

It looks like Peking Duck has been cut.
Duck moves out of range of the body kick from Dentalplan.
Dentalplan tries to bum rush Duck with a series of wild strikes but Duck uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Duck is defended easily by Dentalplan.

Dentalplan drives through with a takedown into guard.

Duck had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dentalplan defends it easily.
Dentalplan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Duck looking for subs off his back but Dentalplan has passed one foot through into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dentalplan is looking to take a break and control but Duck is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dentalplan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Duck to stand up.

Dentalplan gets a double leg takedown into Duck's guard.

Duck is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dentalplan is aware though and is defending well.
Dentalplan won't allow Duck to sweep him here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dentalplan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Duck does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Duck makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Duck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duck not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Duck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Duck is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Dentalplan rolls with it to try and escape but Duck cranks on the arm and Dentalplan is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
