Sobolev kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ya kuplu tebe dom. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cathay lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Vasiliy Sobolev has been cut.
Sobolev paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Carl Cathay has been cut.
Sobolev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cathay defends it nicely.
Sobolev shoots in but Cathay avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A nice combination there by Cathay.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cathay lands a big right hand that sends Sobolev crashing to the mat! Cathay stays standing though and waves Sobolev back to his feet!

Vasiliy Sobolev's cut is getting worse.

Cathay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sobolev on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Vasiliy Sobolev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sobolev tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Cathay wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sobolev takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cathay works Sobolev's body with a nice hook.
Cathay lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sobolev's sensitive parts.
Cathay lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sobolev at a distance.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sobolev crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cathay - the referee stops the clock and Sobolev gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cathay. Sobolev manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Cathay throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sobolev's head.
Cathay moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Cathay scores with a spinning back kick!
Cathay cracks the inside of Sobolev's front leg.
Cathay throws a monster overhand right that drops Sobolev! Cathay follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
